Tuesday Night Knit at Wolseley September 2008

Here is some of the group of wonderful ladies who all meet on Tuesday nights at Mona's to chat and knit. Mostly chat but don't tell anybody (LOL) What a wonderful group of ladies and all of different backgrounds and ages.
Our lone male is off to University so we don't see much of him but do miss his participation too.

Issac Samuel Derksen

Here is Isaac @ 1 week old. Am so excited we are going to see him.
Tickets are booked so Nana and Papa will be holding him before to long.
He is so adorable and getting bigger everyday.
Am busy now learning how to do Tunisian crocheting which is a stitch between knitting and crocheting. Turning out not to bad but very slow at it yet/
Lots of challenges out there for me and we got to get this little boy some new clothes.
Actually he has lots of clothes and will not want for anything. (LOL) I love to make little things so he should have lots now that I have more time for these things.
Learning how to download my pictures and will be able to post them quicker.

Isaac Samuel 6 days old

Well here is our little Isaac isn't he sweet.
Wow a week has almost gone by fast.
Am busy knitting mittens and heelless socks for Isaac so they can be used either on his hands or feet. Such a precious little bundle of joy.
Would love if we could all be together soon as a family to ow and ah over him. But that doesn't look like anytime soon.
Besides knitting lots of birthday socks and yes even Christmas socks for some of my family and friends I am going to learn how to do Tunisian crocheting. It is using a long crochet hook and you crochet one way and hold back one loop of each stitch then crochet back the other way as if you were knitting.
Its all very interesting and need a little challenge right now.
Can't start my new SKP2008 sock pattern until I finish the birthday socks on my needles.
The other pair doesn't have to be done so quick and already had to frog them back almost 50 rows as made one leg longer than the other. Don't know how that happened and yes you can have a good laugh even I make mistakes at least once in awhile.

Motoring around this blog

I think things are getting easier to motor around this blog. Adding different links and pictures.
Hoping that the links will connect to my Ravelry page.
So many projects to see and have to live to be a hundred and five to do even half of the ones I have marked already as favorites.

Thankfully my family was kept save and out of harms way from Hurricane Gustav. Pray that all my friends and their families are save also.

Still waiting for little Peanut to arrive and should be anyday soon.

Hugs and blessings for a wonderful week everyone.

Ravelympics 2008

Ravelry is in the midst of the Olympics. All our knitting and crocheting projects for the next 1o days will be in a race to see who gets finished what and when.
I have 3 pairs of socks on the needles which will be projects already started but will be able to enter them too.
Will be making a couple of baby sweaters and about 5 preemie hats. Will make 4 more pairs of little socks for Knitting4CanadianSoldiers who give out to the Afghanistan children.
Found a pretty shawl pattern which I am going to try out to see how I like it.
Would make a nice gift for a pretty little girl.
Happy knitting everyone and let the races begin on August 8th at 7am for me. Opening ceremonies in Bejing
