Ravelry, Knitting and visit with Josiah

Wow Can't believe I haven't written anything here in months. To much knitting and Ravelry.
I just love Ravelry and being able to look at everybodies projects.
Have joined a couple of new Yahoo groups. Knitting4CanadianSoldiers and also Esther's new group for the American soldiers and their familes.
Have been really busy knitting lots of socks now and just finished the 14th pair since June1 for the 52PPii Plunge 2008. I shouldn't have a problem knitting 52 pairs of socks from June 1/08 to May 31 2009.
Grandson and my daughter in law here from the Cayman's for a visit. Lots of people for them to see so we didn't get Josiah as much as we wanted too but that's the way it goes have to share with the rest of the family. This picture was taken on our patio. Papa, Josiah and I were having our first barbacue with hot dogs this summer. Thought we wanted to have some when Josiah was here.

My Jacobean socks #finished #74 for group SKP 2008
Boy this sock was a real challenge. This challenge was with the SKP2008 group where we knit a new sock pattern and see who can knit it the fastest. I was #74 so was long ways from being 1st but the fun was worth it. Yarn used was Georga burgundy yarn on 2.25 mm needles.
Learnt to make toe up, short heel rows and gusset and of course knit with magic loop.
Really like this pattern and made another pair out of Opal turquoise yarn which look much prettier.
My daughter will love them.
Have been busy making socks for Bob and the Georga pair was his 3 pair.
Now he has 5 pairs in his drawer and guess who said he wouldn't wear home knitted socks.
Now he loves them and wears them all the time.
The last 2 pairs were made regular stocking stitch with kitchener toes and out of ON YOU TOES yarn.
Now I am busy making him a 6th pair out of Panda cotton with different color diamonds.
So always have a pair on the needles.
Am also making a pair for myself out of Panda cotton with a lacy pattern on the leg.

Broken Shoulder and my knitting of socks
I finally finished my last pair of socks today for me out of Los Angles Wisdom yarns.
Love them and they actually fit too.
What a Christmas for socks as I started making them in Nov. Went to Toronto end of Nov. and of course you know the rest of the story I broke my shoulder. By this time I still had to make another 6 pairs for a total of 10 and mine today would of been the 11th pair in 2 months.
So who says it can't be done. But of course I knit every chance I had even when my best friend and I had coffee.
Of yes, watching Young and Restless also helps. When the blood pressure is up there with all the excitement I tend to knit faster.
Now it will be a challenge to use up the rest of the 12 balls of varigated colors.
One thing I did do on my last sock yarn buying spree was to buy 4 balls of plain Opal.
So will do some mixing and matching.
But this shoulder has to get a lot better before I will tackle my challenge of finishing the 2 pray shawls I have had on the needles since September.
Must get them done soon as want to give them to charity.
The preemie babies hats and booties have to get back at too.
So whoever said life was boring sure doesn't live like I do.
